Expiring/auto-disconnecting proxies

Hello, I often use residential proxies to access sites that block my VPN. However, these proxies are metered and only have limited amounts of data (personally I pay $4/GB). I often forget to turn these off after, and waste a lot of data. My wish is for an option that makes proxies auto-disconnect after a specified amount of time. I don't want to use the wildcard url thing because using the proxies are my last resort due to the limited data. For example with Reddit, first I try just accessing it directly. Then I try a front end like eddrit, though they often get rate limited. Then as a last resort I turn on a proxy.

"Proxy by Patterns" feature was crated for this purpose. Setting up a timer would require a lot of processing and user-interface to set timer and set the timer length. It would also require additional alarms permission which can run into issues when background scripts are unloaded in MV3.

There are other issues such as:

• When/how would a timer start?
• What happens when you are in the middle of using it and the timer cuts the proxy off?
• What happens when you finished using it and the timer still hasn’t cut off?

When you select it in the FoxyProxy pop up

It cuts off. It would be the same as disconnecting using the pop up

Then you disconnect manually

I also need this, In my country law is enforcing the dynamic blocking of pirate sports streaming at IP level during sports event, not realizing that blocking cloudflare CDN ips blocks also masses of legit sites delivered from same ips, so we need to activate the proxy only during events to access the legit sites, but is very easy to forget to deactivate it and is unconvenient to leave it set indefinitely.
