What happened?
There was an option to save plans/notes to Obsidian, but I can no longer find it. It's not in settings, and I couldn't find it in the documentation either. There seems to be no option, no configuration to enable it. There's no paid plan or advanced setting that can be triggered. This option is completely hidden from me except for the "integrations" option in settings, which has a file browser option—but that's just to add display additional directories. Other things don't show up, so I can't access or find any way to activate or enable Obsidian saving. This has been consistent over the past 6-8 weeks, on at least 2,3 versions.
Now, if I go to "options" and "export", I have three menus: share, annotations, and notes. Under notes, there's a text line to "save this plan to your notes app without approving or denying", and it shows Obsidian, Bear, and Octarine as "not configured." But the message says "enable in settings > saving > Obsidian," and there is no "saving" option in settings. I also checked if this might be connected to an ad blocker, and it's not. It still fails to show.
The weirdest thing happened in the above context:
- After writing this whole bug report, I returned to take some screenshots and numerous new options appeared in settings. Initially, the options were: GENERAL, THEME, VIM, SHORTCUTS, FILES. Upon returning new ones appeared: DISPLAY, SAVING, LABELS, HOOKS, OBSIDIAN, BEAR, OCTARINE.

- I suspected this was connected to some update conflict or multiple versions installed on my system, but they are not. """
Separately, I noticed a few things. OpenCode immediately closes the session after starting the engine. The browser window pops up and remains active, but OpenCode immediately ends the connection. The Codex implementation does keep it open longer. However, in both cases, after the connection closes, clicking the "send feedback" button fails to send the feedback and also closes the window. This has happened many times, resulting in loss of data, notes, annotations, and feedback. Sometimes it's recoverable, but other times it's not.
I have to be transparent and say I haven't personally investigated whether there's a option for persistence except for the one discussed above, or if there's a recovery option—which now I remember sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. For example, when the connection closes and I click "send feedback," the window closes but the data isn't sent to the harness. Then, because the window closed, I tried restoring or reopening the last closed tab, and it doesn't work. If the connection is still up, it works, displaying a window with two buttons to restore or dismiss notes.
By some happy accident, the settings menu now displays the Obsidian options. However, I would still like to note it's weird behaviour.
I would like a very simple persistence option that saves the notes automatically, to Obsidian or to the file system. Ideally, this would be connected to the actual plan being displayed—or even better, inside the actual plan itself—so that one document contains both the plan and the feedback, annotations, and notes.
