service: hassio.addon_stdin only as admin

Hi, I am using this version of Home Assistant.

With this version you cannot use service: hassio.addon_stdin without admin permissions/rights in script or automations without admin permissions. Users get a message like "Actie script/script cannout be started. Unauthorized"

Do you have a solution how I can make a call from an automation or a script and communicate to the sipp addon

One solution could be using a shell_command
Example:

For my understanding, in which context do you run automation in a non-admin context?

I had a script in Home Assistant that opened a fence by calling it with the SIP addon (with a callerID) End users could hit a button in Home Assistant and the script was executed and the fence would open. After the latest Home Assistant version only Home Assistant admins could hit the button. Non admins get an error message "Unauthorized"

In all your examples en documentation you are using "service: hassio.addon_stdin"
This will only work for admins after the latest Home Assistant update

Thanks, I do not have one automation that can be triggered by a user. All automations are triggered by external events in my case.

Also I did not find anything about that in "breaking changes" or somewhere else in the release notes. Maybe you can ask about that in the forums or create an issue for home assistant to understand why this is happening now?

What I learned is some things have become more stricter, when scripts are run from a user. Home Assistant, Supervisor actions (anything starting with hassio.) are strictly hardcoded to require administrator privileges. Anyway it worked for me for years, and stopped working since the last updates.

I solved it by using a shell_command instead of a script
