GRUB won't boot after first boot

describe the problem

I was installing Arch Linux on my laptop using archinstal. It went smoothly, i set the partitions, added multilib and selected GRUB as my bootloader.
I booted into my newly installed distro, installing some essentials and using configuring it, and a problem occurred when I rebooted.

It couldn't boot into Arch using GRUB. In older versions of Archinstall, It used to boot after waiting on a BIOS error that says

>> Checking Media presence
>> No Media Present.

And would boot into grub after 15 seconds. I used to fix it by making the GRUB entry resemble Windows Boot manager. Well in this version of archinstall "latest", it just keeps deleting the GRUB boot entry every time i make it.

Yeah sure, it may be janky hardware but this issue doesn't happen when i use an older version of archinstall. I gave up on this method since it gave me permanent connectivity issues.

Any clue? feel free to ask for info.

Halo thanks for reporting this, think I might have left some code for the new UKI features that was breaking new way of handling grub. See previous PR #4073

It was already fixed after i tried using the latest version of arch install. But thanks i guess, may the project get better. Devo.

Hm it is odd, I could'nt get UKI with grub to work properly, just kept either doing kernel panics or bugging menu entries.
Perhaps you just turned it to disabled ?

Anyways, might need more work on it but on my fork seems to work well now.

yeah, unfortunately i dont use uki, since it gives me kernel panics in fallback initframs.
maybe chainloader can fix it

Thats the thing chainload isn't needed anymore hence why I showed in dev fork how to do it properly f8645ef, and UEFI systems should support it well and boot faster.

Yeah by default fallback entries are now disabled 🤷

atp i can kind of realize that grub makes it harder to configure uki, but since u insist on fixing it,

try setting us single uki ONLY
disablt fallback, since it doesnt work
make it generate uki with a minimalll initframs.

or disable uki for grub, let them use systemdboot 🤷

so this issue was opened to address an error that happened on my pc and it seems to be fixed. no need to continue what so on. thanks for assisting me!
