new 1.6.3 release?

Specifically to get the fix for #1449

Thanks for the kind reminders and your patience. As many have noticed, I have a day job again, and other maintainers seem quite busy as well.

But despite this, there is progress: #1575

I am trying my best to get things ready and released :)
