From 532fbcda0b4dbc609251739f8c08ffb1a4cfb952 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Colin Byrne Date: Wed, 14 Oct 2026 16:47:39 -0700 Subject: [PATCH] conf: USB-Audio: Add ASUS ROG Zenith II S/PDIF device mapping The ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme (TRX40) has two onboard USB audio codecs: - "Zenith II Main Audio" (0b05:1916, Realtek ALC1220-VB): PCM device 0 is the 8-channel analog output and the optical S/PDIF output is PCM device 1. Because the card is not in the iec958_device table, iec958: opened device 0, so the "Digital Stereo (IEC958)" output in PipeWire/PulseAudio sent audio to the analog jacks and the S/PDIF port was silent. - "Zenith II Front Headphone" (0b05:1915) has a single analog playback device and no digital output, but iec958: still opened it and PipeWire/PulseAudio listed a non-functional digital output. Tested on AlmaLinux 10.2 (alsa-lib 1.2.15.3, PipeWire 1.4.11): with this mapping, iec958:CARD=Audio opens hw:0,1 and audio plays over optical S/PDIF, and the front headphone codec shows up as analog stereo only.
