You are possibly new to GitHub! If you want to contribute to any project in GitHub, you have to improve their code/add features, leading to the better version of the project itself and send a PR. If that PR is accepted by the owner/managers, you are a contributor!

Things i'd like to see done is fixing the issues with the backend. I would want to switch to a clean sql db or mongodb and also want the auth process rewritten to use scratchauth.

@Waakul Okay, I'm a beginner programmer, so if you could tell me which files I need to modify for those improvements you suggest, I'd appreciate it.

You should first clone this to your pc and look through the code and the framework and try to understand and figure it out. I've made it pretty clean using different folder names. /extension contains the frontend extension and /backend contains the backend which should run on a server. For testing you can run the backend locally using pm2 and you'll need to fill in the .env file by looking at the .env.example. You can install the extension your coding locally by enabling developer mode in your browser's extension settings and clicking on loading unpacked and selecting the /extension folder. You should use chromium based browsers only except don't use safari. You should click reload in the browser addon settings everytime you make a change in the frontend. You can link your locally run backend to the extension by expanding settings in the extension popup, enabling custom server url and typing in localhost: . replace the localhost: with the actual port you set in .env. Now you can start making changes.

I was working with noSQL DBs, cause basically, SQL Injection is very easy + SQL is slow. I was working on a custom implementation, which is faster, and is implemented in Rust. It makes use of key value system, with multi column system, with a document kind a storage. If I finish I would send the PR, or else release the a new Fork
