Hi, thank you for this project! I’m interested in the current functionality of the Virtual Audio Driver and would like clarification on a few advanced features:
-
Device Type and Capabilities
- Is the virtual audio device currently implemented as a true WaveRT device, or is it only a dummy/fake device?
- Does it handle full audio routing and processing (like a real device), or is there some limitation?
-
Equalizer APO Compatibility
- Does the virtual device support Equalizer APO? For example, is it visible/selectable as a target device for system-wide equalization in Equalizer APO?
- Are there specific INF settings or steps needed to make the virtual device compatible with Equalizer APO?
-
Multi-Channel Audio Support
- Does the driver currently support more than 2 channels (for example, 5.1 or 7.1 surround configuration), or is it limited to stereo?
-
WASAPI Loopback Support
- Can the virtual speaker device be used for WASAPI loopback capture (i.e., is it visible as a loopback-capable endpoint for recording system audio)?
- Are there current limitations or is there a roadmap for this feature?
-
Audio Processing Objects (APOs)
- Can the virtual device host custom or third-party APOs aside from Equalizer APO (such as system effect DLLs registered via INF)?
Any clarification on these points or pointers to documentation would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
