When trying to type "$" in markdown, it doesn't appear, so I write "$", then I got this error:
<span class="katex-error" title="ParseError: KaTeX parse error: Unexpected character: '' at position 199: …avascript/)
But when I use it later on the same line "$" appears as "$", which is what I want.
But the first occurrence doesn't render.
