Leukotriene modifiers treat asthma and nasal allergy symptoms. They can be prescribed along with other drugs. These medications are available only with a doctor's prescription and come as pills, chewable tablets, and oral granules. The only leukotriene modifier that has FDA approval is montelukast (Singulair)."

The FDA has approved several under-the-tongue immunotherapy tablets that can be taken at home. The prescription tablets, called Grastek, Oralair, and Ragwitek, treat hay fever and work the same way as shots. The goal is to boost a patient's tolerance of allergy triggers. Odactra is an under-the-tongue medication that can relieve symptoms of allergies to dust mites. Palforzia treats peanut allergy."

But over time, the problems get worse. People in the later stages of the disease usually cant live alone or care for themselves. There are three main phases of Alzheimer's: mild, moderate, and severe. Each stage has its own set of symptoms. The first stage usually lasts from 2 to 4 years. The symptoms include Having less energy and drive to do things, Less interest in work and social activities and spending more time just sitting, watching TV, or sleeping, Loss of recent memories, like forgetting conversations and events that just happened, Language problems, like trouble putting their thoughts into words or understanding others, Mild coordination problems, such as trouble writing or using familiar objects, A hard time with everyday tasks, such as following a recipe or balancing a checkbook, Mood swings that involve depression or a lack of interest, Trouble with driving, like getting lost on familiar routes When a person has one or a few of these issues, it doesn't necessarily mean they have Alzheimer's. There are other medical conditions that can cause the same problems, such as: Conditions that affect metabolism, such as a thyroid problem, Drug abuse, Taking medications that don't work well together, Parkinson's disease, Stress, Depression. A doctor can check on these symptoms and do tests to know if a person has Alzheimer's or something else. Moderate Alzheimer's: This is when memory loss gets worse and starts to cause problems in daily life. This stage can last from 2 to 10 years. Others might have asthma symptoms every day. In addition, some people may only have asthma during exercise, or asthma with viral infections like colds. Mild asthma attacks are generally more common. Usually, the airways open up within a few minutes to a few hours. Severe attacks are less common but last longer and require immediate medical help. It is important to recognize and treat even mild asthma symptoms to help you prevent severe episodes and keep asthma under better control. Early warning signs are changes that happen just before or at the very beginning of an asthma attack. These signs may start before the well-known symptoms of asthma and are the earliest signs that your asthma is worsening. In general, these signs are not severe enough to stop you from going about your daily activities. But by recognizing these signs, you can stop an asthma attack or prevent one from getting worse. An asthma attack is the episode in which bands of muscle surrounding the airways are triggered to tighten. This tightening is called bronchospasm. During the attack, the lining of the airways becomes swollen or inflamed and the cells lining the airways produce more and thicker mucus than normal. All of these factors -- bronchospasm, inflammation, and mucus production -- cause symptoms such as difficulty breathing, wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath, and difficulty performing normal daily activities. Other symptoms of an asthma attack include:Severe wheezing when breathing both in and out, Coughing that won't stop, Very rapid breathing, Chest pain or pressure, Tightened neck and chest muscles, called retractions, Difficulty talking, Feelings of anxiety or panic, Pale, sweaty face, Blue lips or fingernails. The severity of an asthma attack can escalate rapidly, so it's important to treat these asthma symptoms immediately once you recognize them. Without immediate treatment, such as with your asthma inhaler or bronchodilator, your breathing will become more labored. If you use a peak flow meter at this time, the reading will probably be less than 50%. Many asthma action plans suggest interventions starting at 80% of normal. As your lungs continue to tighten, you will be unable to use the peak flow meter at all. Gradually, your lungs will tighten so there is not enough air movement to produce wheezing. You need to be transported to a hospital immediately. Unfortunately, some people interpret the disappearance of wheezing as a sign of improvement and fail to get prompt emergency care. if you do not receive adequate asthma treatment, you may eventually be unable to speak and will develop a bluish coloring around your lips. This color change, known as cyanosis, means you have less and less oxygen in your blood. Without aggressive treatment for this asthma emergency, you may lose consciousness and eventually die. While asthma symptoms can begin at any age, most children have their first asthma symptoms by age 5. Not all children with asthma wheeze. Changes in bowel habits Speak to a GP if you've noticed these changes and it's lasted for 3 weeks or more: tummy discomfort, blood in your poo, diarrhoea or constipation for no obvious reasona feeling of not having fully emptied your bowels after going to the toilet, pain in your stomach or back passage (anus), your poo is loose, pale or looks greasy, Bloating, Speak to a GP if you've had bloating for 3 weeks or more. You should also speak to a GP if you have any unexplained bleeding, such as: blood in your urine, vaginal bleeding between periods, vaginal bleeding a year or more after the menopause (postmenopausal bleeding), bleeding from your bottom, blood when you cough, blood in your vomit, Coughing, chest pain and breathlessness, Speak to a GP if you've had a cough for 3 weeks or more. Lumps, Speak to a GP if you notice a lump in your breast or if you have a lump that's noticeably increasing in size elsewhere on your body. It's important to regularly check your breasts, underarms, groin and testicles for any new lumps or changes. Moles Speak to a GP if you have a mole that:changes shape or looks uneven changes colour, gets darker or has more than 2 colours starts itching, crusting, flaking or bleeding gets larger or more raised from the skin Any of the above changes means there's a chance you have malignant melanoma, a form of skin cancer. Unexplained weight loss You should also speak to a GP if you've lost a lot of weight over the last couple of months that cannot be explained by changes to your diet, exercise or stress. This includes a dull pain that's always there or a sharp pain that comes and goes. Indigestion and heartburn Some cancers can give you indigestion, or heartburn and acid reflux. This can feel like burning in your chest (heartburn) and make you burp or hiccup more than usual. Speak to a GP if you get any of these symptoms regularly and are not sure why you're getting them. Itchy or yellow skin. Speak to a GP if your skin is itchy, and your skin or the whites of your eyes turn yellow (jaundice). Your pee may also look darker than usual.
