possible to extract the heard callsign?

i am experimenting with a chat/filesharing program to work with modem73, from what i see, the callsign is encoded into the packets, and can be decoded by the terminal ui (shows in heard row in status), but i cant see an obvious way to get these details out of the program? is there an undocumented control port command or something?
while i'm on it, although admittedly i haven’t looked into it as much, is there a way to also see the recieved mode and coding rate?

Not yet but it's a small change. The control port broadcasts an rx_frame event each time a frame is decoded that has BER, SNR and audio level. But I will add mode and other information.

I'll also add an rx_frame_history command that will return the last x number of frames.

The only mode that includes callsign on the PHY level is OFDM. It's base40 encoded into the meta symbol alongside the mode byte.

For ROBUST and MFSK they just have the payload + CRC. I will have to figure out what to do with that. My suggestion is that application developers should explicitly set the callsign with whatever protocol they come up with.
