Hey bro, I have a jailbroken PS4. Can I use my save file in this editor? Every time I open it, it opens Chrome, but the editor screen doesn’t change. What am I supposed to do?

I seem to remember that multiple years ago a user reported that the tool also worked for the saves on other platforms, specifically some Play Station. Assuming the saves are in the same format within the .dat file it will work.

The editor itself bootstraps of a browser, that it is why it is opening a webview (like for example chrome if you have it installed and it finds it).

I am unsure what you mean with:

Launching the tool for the first time should give you a screen where you need to select the location of the .dat and .info files like such:

If you at some point entered wrong values there, you can scroll to the very bottom of the page which is shown instead, there will be a button Open settings again.

Thanks for the reply. When I open the editor, it doesn’t show any image. That screen you sent doesn’t appear. It just stays on a black screen with a small white dot, like I’m about to type something.

It seems you are running the bundled .exe version. Is the blank window the browser or the console (CMD / Powershell)?

Running the Graveyard Keeper Savefile Editor.exe file should open up a console, is there nothing written in there? (Neither an error, nor something like Looking for save files in the folder: C:\Users\NetroScript\AppData\LocalLow\Lazy Bear Games\Graveyard Keeper).

Also, if the blank window is the browser, can you open the Developer Tools (by default for Chrome bound to F12 and check if there are any errors displayed either when opening the Console Tab or the Network Tab?

Is there anywhere I can send you a video? Literally nothing shows up, and that background page and the white background are from the browser.

GitHub should also allow you to upload video files (as long as they aren't too large I think).

Otherwise, you could use for example a website like https://streamable.com and then share a link to the video.

It seems the script finds the browser, and tries to launch it pointing to the application.

However for some reason your browser launches without having the application open.

The problem is, that the application picks a random port where it runs. (A port is like an additional information to an IP address to know which application you want to communicate with in for example the browser).
So probably the application is running, but you can't see it.

However it would be possible to have the application run, and use Windows to find the port it is listening to, and then open that port manually in your browser.

If you execute the following PowerShell one liner (while you have the save editor open after it opened the (empty) browser) it should open the application correctly in your normal browser:

(Note: In your startbar just search for Powershell and open it, it is very similar to CMD, but the newer version of it from Microsoft)

Here is the explanation what the command does (I took the freedom of pasting the explanation from ChatGPT):

└─ Stores the port number in a temporary variable called $p

   Get-NetTCPConnection -State Listen
   └─ Gets all programs currently waiting for TCP connections

   | ? { $_.OwningProcess -eq (Get-Process 'Graveyard Keeper Savefile Editor').Id }
   └─ Filters the list to only show the Savefile Editor

   | select -First 1 -Expand LocalPort
   └─ Takes the first port number it finds and saves it into $p

if($p){ Start-Process "http://localhost:$p/no settings.html" }
└─ If a port was found, opens the Savefile Editor page in your browser

where no settings.html is the start page I showed in the earlier screenshot.

If my assumption is true (that the application runs and just fails to open the browser correctly), you should be able to just use it in that browser window then.

It worked, but now I’m having a problem inside the game. I put items in the chest and when I start the game, it just won’t load. Can you imagine what could be causing this?

It sounds as if you added an item which you current game does not contain. (For example a DLC item without the DLC).

However you only will really know when checking the log file of the game, you find it in the same folder as the saves:

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Lazy Bear Games\Graveyard Keeper

Feel free to also upload the output_log.txt here.

Also, if you did not change the default settings, the save editors will have created backups of your save, so you can also restore one of them any time.
