Dear @mi-code team,
I would like to request the release of the kernel source code for Redmi Pad Pro 5G (codename: ruan).
The device was released in September 2024 and is part of Xiaomi’s newer tablet lineup running HyperOS based on Android 14/15 depending on region. It has received multiple software updates since launch and is still an actively supported device.
However, the corresponding kernel source code for Redmi Pad Pro 5G (ruan) does not appear to be publicly available in the MiCode repository at this time.
This limits the ability of developers to properly support the device. In particular, it blocks or significantly slows down:
- Custom ROM development (AOSP / GSI-based builds)
- Device tree creation and hardware bring-up
- Kernel-level debugging and bug fixing
- Performance, battery, and stability optimizations
- Long-term community support once official updates slow down
Other Xiaomi devices from similar generations already have their kernel sources published in MiCode. In comparison, Redmi Pad Pro 5G (ruan) is still missing.
It would be highly appreciated if Xiaomi could release the latest complete kernel source matching the shipped firmware for this device, including any required device-specific kernel modifications.
This request is made respectfully by users and developers who are interested in long-term software support and community development for the device.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
