Originally, the sample selection mode (crosshairs icon in the selection bar) was introduced to select individual pixels (e.g., to show their spectra in the spectral viewer). This does not seem to work anymore. The selection seems to be empty.
Steps:
Load image data
Open Image viewer and set data
Change interaction mode to selection
Change Selection mode to Sample selection
Click into image
Other views do not show a selection, including the data properties view
Further notes: if something was selected before, assuming replace mode this gets deselected in the views (i.e., no more red area in the image view, no spectra in the spectral viewer) and the data properties of the point data (number of selected points: 0), but the data properties view still shows the old selection size.
