When the eight edition frames were introduced, there were complaints that the artifact frame was too similar in shade to the white frame. As a response, WOTC darkened the artifact frame starting in Fifth Dawn. Over time, however, the frog was boiled so that artifact frames returned to a similar lightness by the time of 2XM. These dark artifact frames are unavailable in MSE. Here is an example:
I would prefer these to be available in the M15 frame as well, but since that's never been printed, it's irrelevant to this issue, because this is specifically on the principle of "having every frame ever used in Magic's history within the full magic pack".
