Current situation:
The left navigation menu has some issues that need to be resolved to improve the user experience:

1. A user has to scroll through hundreds of links to get anywhere, which is fatiguing and easy to get lost in.
2. No visible "you are here" grouping collapse
3. Weak visual hierarchy. The user does not notice a difference between the content levels
