Hello Team,
I would love to see a native, lightweight fan controller implementation integrated directly into ZimaOS
The Problem:
When running ZimaOS on custom hardware, the BIOS only controls fans based on CPU temps—it is blind to HDD heat during Summer, heavy data transfers or array rebuilds. Because of ZimaOS’s containerized design, standard Linux fan tools cannot access motherboard PWM chips out of the box, leaving disks running hot.
The Solution:
It would be amazing if ZimaOS could natively read HDD S.M.A.R.T temperatures and dynamically spin up the system chassis fans when the disks get warm to keep the temp under certain degree.
Thank you for your work.
Best salam
