Please Make Previous/Next Buttons Bigger and with more whitespace surrounding them.
Several ideas, whichever works best:
- make buttons wider (add horizontal space)
- possibly add boundaries/relief to the buttons so it's easy to pinpoint visually
- maybe also make buttons larger by default
- possibly add an checkbox option in Settings to control this (e.g. 'Make Prev/Next buttons Big')
- possibly have the Prev/Next buttons completely separate from the rest (e.g. on the left in the sidepane), as these two have a 'click often' usage, while all others are 'click rarely' and could be grouped elsewhere (e.g. on the right in the sidepane)
Use case:
Chesskit is perfect for analyzing games as it gives the Chess.com feel but with serious game analysis from Stockfish. This works great esp. for young children. However the buttons Prev/Next are very small, hard to find visually, easy to mistake for the Reset/FinalPos buttons, easy to make a mistake and click on them inadvertently. Esp. on mobile devices like tablet, the web UI is very difficult to use for a child. Although this is the same issue for adults, as it's easy to fat-finger the wrong button on mobile device, so makes it quite difficult to use it for full game analysis.
On desktop this is not such a big problem as one can use arrow keys (though conceptually same ergonomic issue exists). No such option for mobile devices, so the ergonomics is not great.
