From 08ed760a0493456b2714984a85a92ae7b20dbb9f Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: DevMando Date: Wed, 9 Sep 2026 20:20:07 -0700 Subject: [PATCH] Keep the empty-state message readable over a background image MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Closing the last agent left the 'no agents open' copy painted directly on the user's chat background image, where a busy or light picture could make it unreadable. Wrap the copy in a translucent card instead: MandoGlassBrush is the theme's panel color with alpha, mirroring the transcript's own message bubbles, so the image still reads through the card while the text sits on a predictable surface. Alpha rather than Opacity — Opacity on a container fades its text too, which is the problem, not the fix. ThemeManager re-derives the brush from each theme's panel color so it tracks theme switches. The body line moves from 0.6 to 0.8 opacity: dimming reads as secondary against a flat panel, but over an image it only costs contrast. --- CHANGELOG.md | 6 +++ src/MandoCode.Desktop/App.xaml | 12 ++++- src/MandoCode.Desktop/MainWindow.xaml | 51 ++++++++++++------- .../Services/ThemeManager.cs | 6 ++- 4 files changed, 54 insertions(+), 21 deletions(-) diff --git a/CHANGELOG.md b/CHANGELOG.md index bba78db..2e786ff 100644 --- a/CHANGELOG.md +++ b/CHANGELOG.md @@ -178,6 +178,12 @@ for every approved plan. The message now sits in a translucent card — the + same treatment the chat's own message bubbles use — so the image still shows through while the + text keeps a predictable surface behind it. The explanatory line under the heading is also less + dimmed, since dimming costs contrast that a background image has already spent. - **The preview pane's open and attach buttons now work on web pages.** Both acted only on a project file, so on a website they did nothing at all and gave no reason why.
