Additional Terms Regarding Use of Scryfall Data and Images

This software may interact with or retrieve data from Scryfall. Any use of Scryfall data or images through this Software must comply with Scryfall’s API and image usage guidelines. By using this Software in conjunction with Scryfall data, you agree to the following additional conditions:

1. Attribution and Endorsement Restrictions

  • You may not use Scryfall logos.
  • You may not use the Scryfall name in any way that implies endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation.
  • You may not imply that Scryfall has endorsed you, your product, or your work.

2. No Paywalling of Scryfall Data

  • You may not “paywall” access to Scryfall data.
  • You may not require payments, subscriptions, survey completions, ratings, account upgrades, community joins, or social follows in exchange for access to Scryfall data.
  • If your software includes accounts, users must be able to access cardRequest data anonymously or via free accounts.

3. Scope of Use

  • You may not use Scryfall data to create new games.
  • You may not imply that the information or images originate from any game other than Magic: The Gathering.
  • You may not simply repackage, republish, mirror, or proxy Scryfall data.
  • Your software must provide additional value beyond raw redistribution of Scryfall data.

4. Image Usage Requirements When using images sourced via Scryfall:

  • Do not crop, cover, or remove copyright notices or artist credits.
  • Do not distort, skew, stretch, blur, sharpen, desaturate, or color-shift cardRequest images.
  • Do not add watermarks, stamps, overlays, or logos.
  • Do not display images in a way that implies creation by anyone other than Wizards of the Coast, or that the cardRequest belongs to another game. If using the art_crop image version:
  • You must display the artist name and copyright information elsewhere within the same interface, or
  • You must display the full cardRequest image elsewhere in the same interface.
  • Users must be able to clearly identify the artist and the source of the artwork.

5. API Access Enforcement

  • Repeated mishandling, misrepresentation, or violation of Scryfall’s data or image usage policies may result in Scryfall restricting or blocking API access.
