Product 597359 (Pokemon Japan, group 23876) listed with empty price columns since 2025-08-18, while tcgplayer.com shows an active market price

Product 597359 (Umbreon 161/S-P, category 85, group 23876) appears in the products CSV with all price columns empty (lowPrice/midPrice/highPrice/marketPrice/directLowPrice/subTypeName all blank) and modifiedOn: 2025-08-18T15:20:21 — nearly a year stale. Consequently it's absent from /tcgplayer/85/23876/prices (182 rows), while immediate neighbors (597354-597358, 597360) are present with prices. However, the live product page (tcgplayer.com/product/597359) currently shows Market Price $24.43. Question: is this a stale ETL entry on TCGCSV's side, or does TCGplayer's pricing API itself return this SKU without price data (site-computed market not exposed via API)? Happy to provide more examples — group 23876 has 164/346 products in this state.

You don't have to like it, but TCGplayer's API does not return price information for photo listings. So that Stamped Umbreon may not have a market price from the API without "normal" (non-photo) listings and sales.

Because most of these sales are photo listings, I bet that's why this product doesn't have pricing yet."

I see 3 sales without photos in that sales history, I see a clear as day market price of 24.43, its not that I dont like it, its that it doesnt make sense for the tool, i tought you would rather try to fix this but I see I was a fool to think you would even try.

I am pulling information from TCGplayer's API and yielding it directly and unmodified. You're complaining about TCGplayer's API not yielding a price for this product.... which I don't have much authority to address, fix, or sway.

I wish I had that confidence to not even check the reason and think about a possible bug, the reason I am pointing out that there is 3 sales without photos and a clear as day market price is to dismantle your "it could be because of picture sales" excuse. Even as an affiliate with access to the api you have better comunication channels that most people and could try asking, if you cared enough about your "product" of course, which is clear you dont.

However literally almost everything is null. I wonder if these entries are being filtered out of the group pricing endpoint, and that's why we we see 6 entries when I query for 597359 specifically, but don't see any from the group pricing endpoint.

An old incorrect reply

The API seems to simply be behaving as if this card doesn't have any product level market pricing... This is a fairly common state from my experience. Again, the primary reasons I suspect are:

1. Current listings are all photo listings
2. Low sales volume in general

But your guess is as good as mine.

The market pricing you're touting as "direct evidence" could be a SKU price... I'll go see if I can confirm that by pulling the SKUs for this product to check if any of them line up... I've seen that before, where a product has pricing at specific SKUs (conditions) and then the main website hoists whatever it can get it's hands on.

I wish I was in a better position to explain why the main website can show pricing information for this card, while the API doesn't have any product pricing, but we're both trying to wring blood from a stone here.

Edit: I read the price response too quickly... the market price we want Is hiding in there, which means this got a lot more interesting. Either:

1. The Get Group Pricing endpoint has a weird hard-cap at 180 items
2. The Get Group Pricing endpoint can't hande the 6 subTypes this product appears to have.
3. This product is being filtered from the group pricing endpoint for some other unclear reason.

It seems like tensions are really high here... and I'm not sure I can explain anything more than I already have to help but I do not have strictly better communication channels than anyone else. I am a member of the TCGplayer API discord, (And I will do what I can) I can DM the same folks you can, and I am frequently left unread and ignored. I have listed 3 separate bugs with the API over 5 months ago, and none of them have been fixed or addressed. I will happily send more messages to see if that will magically kick the tires again... but this seems like a situation where the API is behaving in some unspecified and unclear way by design.

This will be the 4th issue I raise.

listen brother, I am sorry if you felt I wasnt being gentle but it was hard to be when I just read the "nah, maybe its because of this, idk" instead of what you just did which proves you really looked into it and cared, that's all I wanted, making a report and someone really looking into it, and I really appreciate you took time to do that, I really didnt know tcgplayer didnt care about the people who they gave a limited api to their website which they are not giving any more of it, I mean, i couldnt have known because i dont have one.. but thanks for informing me they dont care about their api being horseshit and confirming this wasnt a bug on your side, also thanks for trying once more to report this, I truly do believe people with the api have at least a slighly better chance of being listened, I mean, why would they listen to someone without an api key about api key not working? but anyways, thanks again for caring, have a great day.
