Running ./gradlew assemble with Java 17 causes the build to fail during the Gradle configuration phase with the following error:

General error during semantic analysis: Unsupported class file major version 61
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unsupported class file major version 61

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Use Java 17 as the active JDK.
2. Navigate to the android/ directory.
3. Run ./gradlew assemble.

Expected:
The project should build successfully.

Actual:
