Unable to Install APKs Outside the Temp Folder

Sir, is there a way to install an APK directly to the device, or to install an APK that is already stored on the device itself?

The only method I've found is to first transfer the APK to the Temp folder, then right-click it and select Install. If the APK is located in any other folder on the device, the Install option is greyed out.

I also couldn't find any documentation explaining whether this is the intended behavior or if there's another supported way to install APKs directly.

Could you clarify if this is a limitation or if I'm missing the correct workflow?

Yes, this is the way it was designed, since usually the internal storage doesn't support APK installation, as noted in the ⚠️ to the left of the device name in the navigation bar (if you hover the mouse over it). It is indeed inconvenient now that you mention this, and I will change the install action to instead copy the APK to temp, install from there, then delete it from temp.

One other thing - can you please execute in terminal adb devices -l? (if using the in-app terminal, select target ADB and the command is just devices -l) I want to see if I'm able to display your phone name more correctly.

Hi thank for answering i was wondering if you an add one tab like where you can drag a apk file and it will install it or a button which when you click lets you select the apk file like running a command like adb install C:\Users\Anand\Downloads\myapp.apk something like the picture provided below

Also as requested this is my device id from the command

O and one last idea you have made a portable version of the app but you need to point it to an adb path so everytime we go to another pc we need to repoint it instead of that why not make a folder called adb and we can copy the platform tools there thus when the app opens it first checks if adb is in that folder then if not it ask for the path

But overall its one of the best looking adb apps out there.

For installing APKs directly from the PC you can either drag APKs into the Installed Apps drive, or in any location select Push -> Install Packages:

Regarding the portable version - if you set the custom settings path to the same folder as the app .\settings.json then you can copy it along with the app, and the settings in which you can chose the ADB location.

O i did not notice that in the dropdown and was searching for it everywhere one recommendation rather than putting it in the dropdown it would be more visible if it was beside the push or pull icon as this seems quite hidden i will check out the .\settings.json tomorrow and again its a damn good app i use this to transfer files from my pc to my phone and quest 3 and now i can even install apps directly to it and again its a really good.

I understand the problem, but after all there isn't enough space for all the controls, that's why its under push together with files and folders
